This is a Must Keep book for all English teachers and mums who undertake the teaching of English to their kids. The rules are clearly explained with appropriate examples given to help the user.

Students above 9 years of age who are understand the explanations given will also benefit when they need a tightly compiled book on English Grammar to help them review the right and wrong of English usage.

This is an excellent source for any question concerning grammar.

I got it to help a year-old from Romania learn English. However, I won't use it as I had hoped, because of the format. For one thing, I was looking for a workbook type of material that she could write in. This book, with its very small type, is not suitable for that.

I almost sent it back, but decided to keep it for the excellent resource that it is. It covers so much in English usage that I want it for myself, if not for her. I have ordered two other books for her in which she can write. They are good, also, but not nearly as comprehensive as the Wren book.

Nothing wrong with the book. Perfect everything, especially for a copy used by someone who clearly benefited from it actively. The updated, revised version is hardly recognizable compared to its older, teaching-friendly roots.

Don't get me wrong. The language is frank, unsanitised, and many would raise eyebrows about the nature of several of the language examples, even from published, popular literature.

Just a bit of warning download the "Key to high school grammar and composition" with this. The main books exercises are pretty useless without the key. There is also something unique about the texture of the pages.

It reminds me of the sort of paper used in college dictionaries and the bible. The book itself is relatively thin, but dont let that fool you. For such a small book it more than makes up for it with its comprehensive content. Great book.

I haven't read it all but it has material that I wanted explained better. I have re-learned some things English! Love it!
